Are you open all year? Churchill's is open every day all year except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day. Is your property accessible?Yes. Our grounds are almost all paved. Any person using a wheelchair or walker may tour the garden center by following our pathways. Entrance to the store may be obtained through our back door. Is Churchill's child-friendly?You bet! We love children. Please see our Children's Corner page for a sampling of the events and activities we offer for children. Do you take special or custom orders?Yes. If - for some reason - we do not carry a product you are looking for, we will make every attempt within reason to locate that product, especially if it is from a vendor whose products we normally carry. However, there are some circumstances where we may not be able to obtain a product for you - e.g. if we have to purchase a certain amount to obtain a single item. Please visit our Links We Love page for the web sites of many vendors we have partnered with.
We also take orders all year for custom-designed containers and everlasting botanical arrangements. Please see the Services We Offer page for more details. Do you mail gift cards?Yes. We will mail a gift card of any denomination to any US destination at no extra charge. We may need to charge a mailing fee for cards delivered overseas. Please contact us for further information if you would like a gift card mailed overseas. Do you deliver?Generally, yes. We will deliver bulk items such as mulch and heavy or large purchases for a delivery fee. How much do you charge for delivery?Delivery fees are determined by area, the number of people it takes to deliver and unload the product, and whether there is a need for planting. For general bulk material deliveries, we charge $20 to deliver to the Exeter and immediate surrounding areas, $25 for areas beyond the immediate Exeter area and $30 for areas beyond that. Please also visit our Services We Offer page. Do you have a designer that can come out to my property? We currently have a designer who offers free consultations at Churchill's by appointment in May and June. She also accepts private clients of her own. We also have a list of landscapers and gardeners that we recommend. Please visit the Services We Offer page for more details. Do you grow your own plants? We are the Seacoast's largest retailer of Annuals and Annual Hanging Plants which we grow from "plugs" - tiny plants that are started by major wholesale growers and delivered to us to finish. We also grow many Vegetables and specialty Annuals from seed. We grow many of our own Dahlias. Is there a charge for your events? Almost all of our events are Free. There is an occasional exception which will be noted clearly on the Events Page and in all advertising. How often should I water my plants?Every plant has different requirements. Plants can die from too much or too little water. It is important that you know the type of plant you have before determining its need for water. Please consult a staffperson or plant instruction label before bringing your plant home to determine its moisture requirements. Do you have a plant guarantee?Yes. All trees and shrubs are guaranteed for one year from the date of purchase for 50% of the purchase price. If we plant your tree or shrub for you and it dies within one year, we will refund you 100% of the purchase price. You must have the store receipt or a photo of the tree or shrub before a refund will issue. There is no need to dig up the tree or shrub.
We guarantee that all Perennials, Roses and Annuals leave the premises healthy. We pride ourselves on both the vendors we select to do business with, and our many years of experience caring for plants on the premises. Generally, a Perennial, Rose or Annual that is unhealthy will show signs of stress within 15 days of purchase. If any of your above plant purchases show signs of stress, please contact us within 15 days of purchase to discuss your unique situation. Please do not dig up any of the above plants before discussing the apparent problem. If your concern is with a hanging plant, houseplant or other container plant, we do encourage you to bring it in for a diagnosis. Do you sell Christmas trees?Yes.
